Wedding Photos Explained, A Sisters Proud Moment

During a Wedding Photographers dirties on the day, you’ll see lots relationships form.   I am not talking about brother sister relationships, those are a given, but the ones that are special, like my youngest sister and myself have a special bond.   This was what I spotted at this one wedding early on, and I just knew that moment would show itself for a killer moment, a shot that would be a moment carved into time that I could slice out and capture.  These are the moments that I live for, I work for and shoot for.

So earlier I had seen this when the groom had gotten off the boat with the groomsmen and the and the bridesmaid had come up to him, she tucked herself between him and another groomsman and wrapped her arm around him and the way she was with him, it was plain and simple to see she was his sister, she was so proud of him, maybe it’s just a brother that would know this.   I knew at this moment from this photo I would get a moment later at some point and she also confirmed saying, I am so proud of you, and looked at me as said, he’s my brother!

Here is that shot.

So I knew that moment was going to come, it was just a matter of time. So long after the ceremony and well into the introductions the time came, he had his back to me and she walked up to him and I caught this moment of her wrapping her arms around him so proud and the look on her face says it all.

A priceless moment sliced out of time.

The Tradition of Honeymoon's

Honeymoon comes from the Irish tradition of a drink made from fermented honey (a/k/a Mead).  It was believed if the couple had a supply of the drink for a full 30 day cycle of the moon, they would be blessed with a son within a year.

Charlotte Wedding Photographers, Interesting Bridal Dress Facts

In ancient times the bride’s friends wore the same dress as the bride to help disguise her from evil spirits or being kidnapped by a rival suitor.  The tradition of bridesmaid’s dresses being identical has remained.

Wedding Band History by Charlotte Wedding Photographers, Kenneth Light Studios

The earliest wedding bands were made of hemp and braided grass.  These organic materials were replaced with more durable metal materials around the 15th Century.  The change was made mainly for the addition of diamonds which had become popular by the Italians.
